Curbside

SMS Messaging Consent & Opt-In Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

Customer Consent Statement

By verbally agreeing at vehicle check-in, the customer consents to receive automated SMS messages from their auto repair shop via Curbside about vehicle repair status. Message frequency varies (typically 1–8 per visit). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out. Reply HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase or service. We do not share, sell, or provide mobile phone numbers or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

What is Curbside?

Curbside sends transactional vehicle repair status SMS on behalf of independent auto repair shops. Messages include check-in confirmation, inspection, estimate approval requests, parts ordering, repair progress, quality check, ready for pickup, and completion updates.Messages are sent by or on behalf of the customer's auto repair shop. Program help: reply HELP or email carson@curbsidetoday.com.

How Customers Opt In (Verbal)

Opt-in method: verbal consent at the repair shop during vehicle check-in. Customers do not need to scan a QR code or complete a web form. The process is:

  1. Customer drops off their vehicle at the auto repair shop.
  2. Shop staff reads the required verbal consent script (below) aloud.
  3. Customer verbally says yes (or otherwise clearly agrees) to receive SMS updates — or declines.
  4. If the customer consents, shop staff checks the SMS consent box in Curbside and enters the customer's mobile number.
  5. Curbside stores a consent record (timestamp + method: verbal) before any SMS is sent.
  6. Customer receives an initial check-in SMS with a tracking link. Further texts are sent only as repair status changes.

If the customer declines, the shop can still check in the vehicle, but Curbside will not send SMS messages to that number for that visit.

Required Verbal Consent Script

Shop staff must read this script (or the same disclosures in substance) before sending SMS. This page is public so carriers and reviewers can verify the call-to-action.

"Can I get your mobile number? We'll send you automated text message updates from this shop about your vehicle repair status through Curbside — for example when we're inspecting, waiting on approval, working on it, or ready for pickup. Message frequency varies, typically 1 to 8 messages per visit. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent is optional and not required to have your vehicle serviced. Our Privacy Policy is at curbsidetoday.com/privacy-policy and SMS details are at curbsidetoday.com/sms-opt-in. Do you consent to receive these text messages?"
