Curbside

SMS Messaging Consent & Opt-In Policy

Last updated: June 2026

Customer Consent Statement

By providing your mobile phone number to an auto repair shop that uses Curbside, you expressly consent to receive automated SMS text messages regarding your vehicle repair status. These messages are sent by or on behalf of the auto repair shop. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or service. Message and data rates may apply.

What is Curbside?

Curbside is a software platform used by independent auto repair shops to send automated SMS notifications to their customers. When a customer drops off their vehicle at a shop using Curbside, they receive text message updates about their vehicle's repair status.

How Customers Opt In

Customers provide explicit consent to receive SMS messages at the point of vehicle check-in at the repair shop. The opt-in process works as follows:

  1. Customer drops off their vehicle at the auto repair shop
  2. Shop staff ask the customer for their mobile phone number
  3. Customer verbally consents to receive SMS status updates about their vehicle
  4. Shop staff enter the customer's phone number into the Curbside system
  5. Customer receives an initial SMS confirming their vehicle has been checked in

By providing their phone number and verbally agreeing to receive updates, customers are actively opting in to SMS communications. Consent is obtained prior to any messages being sent.

Types of Messages Sent

Customers receive SMS messages only for the following vehicle repair status updates:

  • Vehicle checked in and received at the shop
  • Inspection in progress
  • Awaiting customer approval on an estimate
  • Parts ordered and waiting on delivery
  • Repairs in progress
  • Quality check underway
  • Vehicle ready for pickup
  • Repair complete

Example Message

"✅ Hi Maria! Your 2019 Honda Civic is ready for pickup at Mike's Auto Repair. See you soon! 🚗"

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies depending on the number of status updates for a customer's vehicle. Customers typically receive between 1 and 8 messages per repair visit. Message and data rates may apply.

How to Opt Out

Customers can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message they receive. After opting out, no further messages will be sent to that number. Customers can reply START at any time to resume receiving messages.

For help, customers can reply HELP to any message or contact us directly.
